It has large wharves on deep water, and will become an extensive shipping point. TABLE BLUFF Table Bluff is a small village situated on a table lying at the southern extremity of Humboldt Bay, and is about twelve miles from Eureka. It is a farming and dairying community, the lands in the vicinity being rich and producing large crops of grains and grasses. On the Bluff are numerous dairies, and large amounts of butter are shipped from this point. As one goes south from Eureka, they may be said to be upon the threshold of one of the best dairying countries in the world when Table Bluff is reached. BRIDGEVILLE Is beautifully situated in a little valley or flat on the north side of the Van Duzen fork of Eel river. The country surrounding is devoted to pasturage and stock raising, and is the headquarters for many of those engaged in the pursuits above alluded to. The sheep ranches in this vicinity are among the finest on the coast. The town is so named from a bridge that crosses the Van Duzen river at that point.
