RUSS, EARLY & WILLIAMS The house was first established in 1867 by E. J. Dodge. In 1869 the late Hon. J. Russ entered in full partnership with Mr. Dodge, and the firm name was styled Dodge & Russ. In 1873 Robt. Searles formed a partnership with Dodge & Russ, and the name changed to Dodge, Russ & Co. In 1876 Dodge sold his interest, and A. Putnam and J. T. Robarts bought into the house, and the firm was styled Russ, Searles & Putnam. January 1, 1885, the name was changed to Russ, Mason & Early, with Ira Russ, W. J. Mason and J. M. Early as partners. In 1886 the firm name was again changed to that of Russ, Early & Williams, with Ira Russ, J. M. Early, A. J. Harville and Frank G. Williams comprising the present firm.
