Officers of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps of every nation, officers of the Coast Survey of the United States, officers of the National Guard of California, being non-residents, who are temporarily located in Los Angeles or vicinity, may be elected as temporary members, for three months, upon payment of fifteen (15) dollars in advance. HONORARY MEMBERS. SEC. 10. Honorary membership may be issued by a unan- imous vote of the Board of Directors to such persons as have become distinguished in letters, prominent in military or naval affairs, famous in state-craft, or renowned in art, for such periods as the Board may deem proper. VISITOR'S CARDS. SEC. 11. At the request of a member, persons residing more than fifty miles from the City may be admitted to the privileges of the Club for a period of two weeks, two mem- bers of the Directory consenting. A card shall be issued to each visitor, signed by the President and Secretary. Mem- bers introducing visitors shall be held responsible for any indebtedness such visitor may contract, and for any violation of the rules of the Club. The time of the visitors' cards may be extended by the Directory, in their discretion, for a term not to exceed two weeks. Not more than two visitors' cards shall be issued to the same person within twelve months. INTRODUCING FRIENDS SEC. 12. Residents of the City of Los Angeles, or within fifty miles thereof, not members of the Club, shall not be entitled to its privileges, but may be introduced once during a period of six months. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent any member from giving private break- fast, lunch or dinner parties in the rooms of the Club to friends not members, providing the consent of the House Committee is first obtained. 17 ---end---
