*** Source: Jonathan Club, Los Angeles, 1909. *** ---page 28--- ARTICLE IX. LIMIT OF MEMBERSHIP. The number of active members shall at no time exceed one thousand. An active member is hereby construed to mean a resident member. ARTICLE X. CHANGE IN MEMBERSHIPS. SEC. 1. Resident members who may become non-resident members and thereafter desire to again become resident mem- bers of the Club, may be elected to resident membership without paying an additional admission fee. SEC. 2. Any non-resident member who had maintained a temporary residence in the City of Los Angeles, California, or within 50 miles thereof, or who hereafter may maintain a temporary residence in said City or within 50 miles thereof, for the period of six months shall be required to pay the same dues each month as a resident member; if said non- resident shall have maintained a temporary residence in said City or within 50 miles thereof for a period of twelve months, he shall be required to pay the difference between the admis- sion fee which he paid when he became a non-resident mem- ber and the fee required from and paid by those who become active members. ARTICLE XI. EXPULSIONS. No member shall be expelled from the Club for miscon- duct either in the Club or out of it, except upon reasonable notice being given him of the charges against him and a reasonable opportunity given him to appear before the Board of Directors and answer to the charge or charges. A notice in writing by the Secretary or any member of the House Committee, addressed to him postage prepaid, and registered, and mailed to his last known postoffice address not less than 28 ---end---
