Nelson operating under firm name of Gregory & Nelson; dis- solved partnership in 1890 and con- tinued business alone, making a fea- ture of the construction of apartment houses. Moved to Los Angeles in 1903 and established real estate business which he operates at present in con- nection with a stock and bond broker- age business; has been identified with the political activity of Los Angeles; served as member Los Angeles City Council 1910-11, and in 1911 was can- didate for mayor; member of former Executive Committee of Citizens' Committee of One Thousand; finan- cially interested in several corpora- tions, among them Traders Oil Co., Johnnie Mining & Milling Co.
