Married to Olivia F. Beatty in 1878. Received his education in the public schools and Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, N. H. Moved to Iowa in 1868 and was employed as bank teller at Hamburg, Iowa; then superin- tendent of lumber yards at Hamburg and Atlantic, and became member of the firm of Bryson, Son & Co.; afterwards purchased the interest of Bryson, Son & Co. and was sole owner of the busi- ness for eight years; sold out and es- tablished a lumber business in Audubon; established other yards at Huron and Miller, S. Dak., with his brother, R. M. Hubbard, under the firm name of A. A. Hubbard & Bro. Moved to Los Angeles in 1883 and organized the City Brick Co., of which Thomas Goss was elected pres.; he became sec. and treas. of this corporation, which was sold to the Los Angeles Brick Co. in 1900.
