Co., tele- graph operator, agent, traveling auditor and accountant with same road for seven years; employed in various capacities in Colorado until 1891, when he engaged in wholesale grain and coal business; admitted to bar in Denver in 1895; prac- ticed in mining camp, 1896-97; in Colorado Springs, 1897; appointed co. atty. El Paso co., 1899 and served until 1901; co. court judge and in general practice, specializing in land titles, mining and water litigation, published "The Frontier" at Colorado Springs, 1903-07; en- gaged in practice in Goldfield, Nev., 1907-10; Los Angeles, 1910 to date.
