Attended public schools of Texas 1886- 92; Arkansas, 1892-97; State Normal School, Edmond, Okla., 1901; grad- uated from Carver College, 1907; with Hall Bros., Corbin. Kan., 1892-1902; with traffic dept. Pioneer Telephone & Telegraph Co., Oklahoma, several years; began practice of chiropractic in 1908, in Guthrie, Okla.; opened a branch school in Arkansas City, Kan., in 1909; opened another branch at Topeka, Kan., 1909; opened Los Angeles branch of the Ratledge System of Chiropractic Schools and trans- ferred headquarters to this city in 1911; with Dr. Willard Carver of Oklahoma City, Okla., had introduced into the first Legislature of Oklahoma, a bill, creating a separate Board of Chiropractic Examiners, which passed the Senate and was defeated on reconsideration; had same intro- duced the two succeeding sessions since which Dr. Carver is heading the fight. In 1911 had a similar bill introduced in Kansas Legislature and was there in person to push the fight; had same bill introduced in 1913, and it became a law, but Gov. Hodges re- fused to appoint the Board; mandamus proceedings being taken now to force their appointments. Colonel on staff of Gov. C. N. Haskell, Oklahoma. Pres. Attended grammar schools of Boston, Mass.; grammar, high and Latin schools of Cambridge, Mass.; gradu- ated from Harvard Univ., A. B., 1873. Genl. agt. of Montreal & Boston Air Line & Passumpsic R. R., Boston, Mass, 1875-79; equal partner with I. A. Whitcomb in the firm of Raymond & Whitcomb, excursion managers, at 240, 296 and 306 Washington st., Boston, Mass., 1879-1900; pres. of Raymond Whitcomb Co., 1900-02; dir. in same, 1902 to date. Moved to Cal. in October, 1883, and began building the Raymond Hotel at Pasadena. Hotel opened, 1886, and burned, 1895; the present Raymond Hotel was built in 1901 and opened that year; owner of the hotel property, 1883 to date, and has managed it personally since 1908.
