After leaving school became reporter on the St. Louis Chronicle; on Scripps McRae League; moved to Salt Lake City and was on staff of Salt Lake Tribune; moved to Los Angeles, Cal., 1905, and became con- nected with Robert Mitchell in real estate business and in 1907 organized the Beaumont Land & Water Co., a corporation which took over and devel- oped the Beaumont Colony in Riverside Co. This enterprise involved nearly three-quarters of a million dollars; he disposed of his interests in Beaumont Land & Water Co., and made a trip around the world in 1910. Dir. of So. Pasadena Savings Bank; pres. So. Pasadena Chamber of Commerce; Inter City Commission; Trunk Line Outfall Sewer Commission of San Gabriel Valley; he has organized eighteen cities between Pasadena and the ocean for purpose of building sewer to serve 164,000 acres of land; this system will comprise about 100 miles of mains and laterals and will be the largest project of its kind in So.
