M.; moved to Los Angeles in 1884; ap- pointed clerk in City Justice's Court, where he served nine years. Admitted to the bar by the Supreme Court of Cal. in Oct., 1890; practiced law sev- eral years, until appointed prosecut- ing atty. in the police courts of Los Angeles; continued to act as prose- cuting atty. until he was elected city justice in 1902, which position he still holds.
