(Will filed in Will Book A, County Records, San Jose, California.) Date: 29 May 1856 Probate: 5 January 1857. In the name of God, Amen: I, N. E. Branham, of the city of San Jose, County of Santa Clara, State of California of the age of forty-three years and being of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this, my last Will and Testament, in manner following, that is to say: First: I give and bequeath to my wife, Sarah L. Branham, all that tract or parcel of land situated in the City of San Jose, County of Santa Clara, and State of California, being land on which I now reside, being about four acres with all the...appurtances thereto belonging or, in any way appertaining, to have and to hold the premises above described to my wife, Sarah L. Branham, her heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I give and bequeath all my personal estate, goods and chattels of whatever nature or kind soever to my said wife, Sarah L. Branham, when I hereby appoint sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament, and further, I give and bequeath to my said wife, Sarah L. Branham, all right or interest that may hereafter accrue to me or that I have at this time in the Public Lands of the Town of San Jose as one of the shareholders of said Lands as claimed by the Company of the Style of San Jose Land Company.....
