were children in Port Huron, came to a happy culmination last Thursday,
when Miss Lela LAWLER, of Port Huron, Mich., became the wife of L.A. SHORTRIDGE,
manager of the Great Northern’s telegraph division at Seattle.The
ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. E.C. Chapman
at Corte Madera, at the hansome residence, “Castle Heights”.They
will live in Seattle. |

| Cupid has once more carried out a little plan of secrecy.Some
time ago Mr. James O’HALLORAN, a plumber of San Francisco, decided to spend
a few weeks in the beautiful hop fields in the northern part of our county
to become acquainted with the network of the hop fields, with the beauties
of nature, and with a bride.On Saturday
evening, Mr. O’Halloran, with Miss Belle Julian KIVETT, called at the home
of Rev. and Mrs. R.N. Lynch and made known their desires of becoming happier.Preparations
for the event were immediately made and as the ceremony was about completed,
Mr. Lynch noticed that the license was obtained in Marin Co. and that the
ceremony must be made accordingly.Without
delay, Mr. Riley’s automobile was summoned and the party, composed of the
bride and groom, with Rev. and Mrs. Lynch and Mr. and Mrs. George Riley,
motored toward Marin Co.Just beyond
the dividing line, a stop was made, the contracting parties arose, and
Rev. Lynch performed the ceremony in the automobile, and Mr. and Mrs. O’Halloran
were hurried to the depot of the Petaluma & Santa Rosa railway from
where they took a car for Forestville, with every good wish accompanying
them. |

| From Petaluma Argus A quiet wedding took place in San Rafael on Tuesday evening when
Miss Lela RODEHAVER, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Rodehaver of
Petaluma was married to Reno L. GRANDI, of Pt. Reyes.The
license was granted on Tuesday evening and gives the ages of the groom
as 21 and that of his bride as 20.The
wedding followed soon after the arrival of the train and only the necessary
witnesses were present.The wedding
came as a big surprise to her family and friends, as there was objections
to her wedding.The bride is a charming
young lady and a graduate of a local high school and of the Dominican College
in San Rafael, having completed her studies there last Spring.The
groom is a most estimable young man and for a time filled a position with
Raymond Bros. of Petaluma.He is
a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grandi, formerly of Pt. Reyes, and now of Petaluma.Some
time ago he embarked in business at Pt. Reyes where he is doing splendidly
and is also engaged in banking.He
is a brother of Ennio, Oliver, and Miss Lidia Grandi. |

when Miss Mary ALVES became the wife of Antone SILVA of San Rafael.The
couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Alves of Visalia.Mrs.
Silva has made her home in Petaluma for the past 3 years, and has many
friends.She is a sister of Mrs.
Amelia Jassen, of Liberty district, Manuel Alves of Visalia, and George
Alves of Tulare.They will reside
in this city where the groom is employed. |
