Josephine A. WOOD Married Christmas

Pretty Josephine A. Wood, one of San Rafael’s popular members of the younger set and formerly chief night operator at the local telephone office, was married Christmas morning to Milton P. VORE Jr., also of San Rafael, in St. Paul’s Episcopal church in this city.

Only intimate friends of the family were present at the ceremony which was performed by Reverend Cutting. Popular Girl Becomes Bride

Miss Isabel DAVIS, the pretty daughter of Mrs. Emma G. Davis of 514 Petaluma avenue, became the bride last Friday of Roy WILLIAMS, a successful young vineyardist of Fresno.

The ceremony was simple and was performed in the presence of but a few friends of the young lady and her immediate family by the Rev. C. C. Champlin, pastor of the First Congregational church.

The new bride is a graduate of San Rafael High School and is popular among the young people of her social circle. Although the announcement of the fact that she was to be wedded on the day chosen came as a surprise to Mrs. Davis, she readily acquiesced in the daughter’s plans. The young couple left immediately after t he ceremony for a short trip to her husband’s home.

Mr. Williams has announced his intention of taking his charming bride to San Francisco where they will, at least for a time, make their home.

Edmund Butler To Take Bride Monday

A social event of interest locally will take place next Monday with the marriage of Miss Wilma JACOBS of Alameda to Dr. Edmund BUTLER, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Butler of this place.

Miss Jacobs is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Laura Hanscom Jacobs and the granddaughter of the late Hon. I. W. Jacobs, one of the pioneer attorneys of Yolo county. The ceremony will take place at the home of Miss Jacob’s sister, Mrs. Russel Frasier Day in Berkeley. The Rev. Father Morrison will officiate.

Dr. Butler for three years was a member of the staff of Lane Hospital in San Francisco, but recently he severed his connection with that institution and became associated with the Emergency Hospital service in that city.

Young Couple Wed After Romance

The marriage last night of Miss Eloyse L. DUNCAN to Albert G. KIRCHNER marked the result of a pleasant romance which began with the arrival here some time ago of the young groom from New York.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. C. Champlin at the home of the bride’s father, R. L. Duncan, in Taylor street, this city. Only the relatives and closest friends of the couple were present. They will spend a week or so in a short trip and then return to make their home here.

Mr. Kirchner is a relative of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lohrmann of this city. Upon his arrival here he entered the employ of the mercantile establishment of Miss Duncan’s father. Their casual acquaintance ripened to friendship, not platonic, and the ceremony of last night was the result.

Foster-Abbatt Nuptials Held Yesterday

Miss Martha K. FOSTER became the bride yesterday of Samuel L. ABBOTT, Jr., a young businessman of San Francisco, at a pretty but quiet ceremony at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Foster.

The bride’s sister, Miss Louisana (sic) Foster, and Edward Eyre, a close friend of Mr. Abbott, attended the young couple as bridesmaid and groomsman. The floral decorations were simple but beautiful. The Rev. Lynn T. White and the Rev. F. W. Clampett, the latter of San Francisco, were the officiating clergymen.

Following the ceremony the guests few in number and including but the relatives and closest friends, partook of the wedding dinner, after which the couple left for San Francisco, their future home.

Mr. Abbott is the son of S. L. Abbott, vice-president of the Security Savings Bank of San Francisco, and is employed by Maillard & Schmeidell, prominent commission brokers of San Francisco.

Young Couple Wed And Surprise Friends

The marriage Monday evening in San Francisco of George A. CHEDA, assistant cashier of the Marin County National Bank, and Miss May C. THOMPKINS, who has been spending her summers for the past three years in San Anselmo, came as a surprise to the friends of the popular young couple.

Without taking any of the members of their set into their confidence, they made all arrangements for the event and were married at 7:30 Monday evening in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A little wedding supper and a theater in the city took up the time until they left on the last boat and train for San Geronimo, where they will spend a honeymoon of a few weeks.

The pretty bride has been making her home in San Anselmo with her uncle, Joseph Kelly, deputy coroner of San Francisco.
