News was received here late last night of the victims of a romantic impulse which led to the double marriage yesterday in San Francisco of two San Rafael couples. Walter Castro and Fred Seuer are the romantic swains, while Miss Virginia Castro, the sister of Walter, and Miss Cohen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Cohen, who conduct the Fourth street fruit store, are the charming brides. Secretly the quartette went to San Francisco, secured their licenses, and lined up in massed formation before the man empowered to tie the life knot. Miss Castro became Mrs. Seuer, and Miss Cohen, by the same ceremony, was entitled to call herself Mrs. Castro. Castro is employed by Dysher & Lafargue in San Anselmo. Seurer is an employee of the Marin County Wine and Liquor company. Both are popular members of the San Rafael fire department. |

The reason underlying his trip to the Middle West upon the close of the Tomales school is revealed in a communication received a few days ago by the friends of Benjamin Harrison Pratt from Orient, Iowa. Mr. Pratt is one of the popular teachers in the Tomales school. Permitting his associates to think what they would, and without announcing his destination or reasons for desiring to reach it, he left before the holidays. Now comes the information that on December 28th he was married to Miss Esther Lucy White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George M. White at Orient, and the added intelligence that the newly weds will be at home in Tomales to their friends after February 1st. |

Daughter of Pioneer Family Becomes Bride of Adolph Leitz, Jr. Miss Mary Miller, the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard T. Miller of Fifth avenue, became Mrs. Adolph Leitz, Jr., yesterday through a quiet ceremony performed at the Bishop’s residence in San Francisco by Rev. Father Ramm. The young couple had been engaged for some time and the wedding date had been fixed for the latter part of next week, but the plan was changed to fit a contemplated trip East by the bridegroom who is the junior member of the firm of A. Leitz and company. The happy pair will spend at least a month in eastern cities on their honeymoon. Miss Miller is a popular member of the younger social set here and is a noted equestrienne. Mr. Leitz resides here with his father and for years has been a member of his father’s company which manufactures surveying and nautical instruments. Following the ceremony, which was performed in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Nougues, the latter a sister of the bride, and another sister, Miss Helen Miller, the wedding party came here to the Miller home. They will leave Monday on their extended eastern trip, and upon their return probably will take up their residence in San Rafael. |

Al Fresco Wedding at Ross Home
Miss Inez PISCHEL and Dr. Harold Augustus FLETCHER were the principals in a pretty al fresco wedding at Ross Saturday in the presence of a large gathering of society people of Marin county and San Francisco who journeyed to the charming home of the bride’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Kasper Pischel, for the event. A unique part of the program which came as a surprise to the guests was the announcement of the engagement of Miss Pischel’s sister, Miss Sepha, to Albert John Evers. Evers is an architect of San Francisco, a graduate of the University of California and a member of the Chi Chi Fraternity. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Miss Burke’s School and is now attending the University of California. The announcement was made by means of a small bit of pasteboard tied to the bride’s bouquet. |
