An item of interest to Corte Madera residents recently appeared in a Napa county paper. It concerned the elopement of Miss Virginia SQUIRES, high school girl of Napa and daughter of Dr. Squires of that city, with Alfred NELSON of Corte Madera, and who is now employed in Sacramento by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company.

The parents of the young bride objected to her marriage on account of her youth and had the marriage annulled. No soon[er] had that been accomplished than the young people eloped again, this time with better success.

Following a honeymoon trip to Los Angeles, they are now domiciled in Fairfield and have received a belated blessing from the bride’s parents who have decided not to again interfere.

In the presence of intimate friends, Pierre N. BERINGER, 62 years old, and Bonnie W. FORD, 44, both residents of Mill Valley, were married by Justice of the Peace Herbert De La Montanya in the Justice Court last Friday. The marriage was Beringer’s third matrimonial venture. Mrs. Ford is a divorcee, having received her final decree from Ward R. Ford a few weeks ago.

Beringer was an outstanding figure in literary circles in the early days, having at one time been editor of the Overland Monthly, one of the leading magazines of the past century. He is now engaged in the newspaper business in San Francisco.

Mrs. Ford was the victim of the recent flood. The underpinning of her Mill Valley residence was damaged by the rains, and her house placed in a perilous condition.

Miss Grace J. CLARK, and W. L. MORGAN, both popular employees in the local offices of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, were married last Friday afternoon in Oakland, and left immediately after the ceremony for a short wedding trip.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Maud Baragon of this city.

Mrs. Julia NICHOLS and John S. DURYE were married last Tuesday at St. Agnes’ Church, San Francisco, by Rev. Father Maeher.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cummings. She is well known in this city where she was born and reared and where she has relatives.

Mr. Duryea is connected with the police department in San Francisco, where they will make their home. The wedding was a complete surprise to the relatives and friends of the bride.

A quiet wedding took place in San Rafael recently when Miss Eliese ARENANDER of Tomales became the bride of Ed GRIPPI of Two Rock. Miss Arenander is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arenander and sister of Eugene. She is a favorite in Tomales where she spent most of her time graduating from the Tomales Grammar School and the Tomales Joint Union High School in 1919. Mr. Grippi is a prominent rancher of the Two Rock district. Their many friends wish them great happiness.

The wedding of Arthur Latno, assistant cashier of the Bank of San Rafael, and Miss Marie Collins, formerly of this city, will take place at Berkeley, the home of the bride-to-be, on Saturday the 16^th of January, according to an announcement.
