To Take Place April 20
Invitations have been issued for the wedding of Miss Florence Corning Oxtoby, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Henry Oxtoby of San Anselmo to Byron Everett Morris of Reno. The ceremony will take place in the Montgomery Memorial Chapel of the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo on Saturday evening, April 20 at 7 o’clock. Dr. Oxtoby will officiate at the ceremony. A reception will be held immediately after the ceremony at t he Oxtoby home. |

Engagement of Miss King Announced By Parents Mr. and Mrs. M. M. King have announced the engagement of their eldest daughter, Miss Gwendolyn King, to Louis Bosch of Sonoma. The announcement was made at a dinner party recently given by Mr. and Mrs. King in their home on D street. The bride-elect is a very charming member of the younger set. Mr. Bosch, who is employed by the state at San Quentin, is prominent in fraternal circles. He is a past president of Sonoma Parlor, N.S.G.W and is a district deputy of the organization. Page 5:
Mr. and Mrs. George Winfield Manley of San Anselmo have issued invitations for the wedding of their daughter, Dorothy Lee, to Nelson Emory Collett, the evening of November 20, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Berkeley. Following the ceremony a reception will be held at the Phi Omega Pi Sorority house at 2601 Le Conte avenue, Berkeley. Miss Manley has chosen Mrs. Edwin Nungo Fraser as matron of honor. Mrs. Fraser is coming down from the northern part of the state for the wedding. The bridesmaids are Miss Janet Heltman, Miss Elizabeth Linscott, Miss Elizabeth Lawton, Miss Aileen Crawshaw, Miss Doris Granauer and Mrs. Everett David Myers. The engagement of the young couple was announced at a large bridge tea given by Miss Manley last April at the Sir Francis Drake. Collett has chosen for his best man, Richard F. Harris. The ushers will be Norton Berry, John Morton, Austin Walther, Nelson Wagner, Symon Hymes and Donald Jenkins. Collett graduated from the university with the class of 1926. Page 5:
A recent engagement of interest is that of Miss Viola Elaine Harvey of Petaluma to Eugene Aranender of Tomales. The wedding will take place in the near future. Miss Harvey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harvey and the sister of J. Colby Harvey of Bloomfield. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Aranender of Tomales. He was graduated from the Tomales High School and is associated with his father in the garage business. Miss Harvey attended the Tomales High School also and later went to San Francisco where she was graduated from the Galileo High School with honors. She has been employed in San Francisco since that time. Mr. Aranender is building a home for his bride in Tomales. Page 7:
A simple but impressive wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf Sunday, when their daughter, Mrs. Helen M. Hughes, became the bride of Mr. Gilbert of San Francisco. The rooms were prettily decorated with chrysanthemums and other fall blooms. Judge J. B. Lovell performed the simple ring ceremony. Only relatives and immediate friends were present. Page 8:

The wedding of Mrs. Bridge Lee of San Francisco and A. D. Matthews, a San Quentin guard, was solemnized at St. Raphael’s Church Tuesday. The solemn service was read by Rev. john mills. The couple
then left on a brief honeymoon.
