1937 Marin Marriage Announcements

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hannis, Jr. (Marie Bianchi)
who were wed last Friday evening at a ceremony at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bianchi, will reside here on Saunders Ave. on t heir
return from a honeymoon in t he snow country.
The bride’s costume consisted of a brown suit and
a gold blouse with which she wore a corsage of gardenias. Miss Dorothy
Brichetto, of Santa Rosa, the bride’s only attendant wore a suit of rust
color. Her corsage was also of gardenias.
Eugene Hannis was his brother’s best man. A dinner
at the Bianchi home followed the ceremony.
Mrs. Hannis, Jr., recently graduated from San Rafael
High School and later studied art in San Francisco.
Her husband is a graduate of Tamalpais High School and Marin Junior College. He is employed by t he Pacific Gas and Electric Co. here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hannis of Alpine Lake. |
Local Couple Wed
A wedding interesting their friends is that on Sunday
of Mrs. Mary M. Cleaves of Oakland, and Brainerd W. Stevens, proprietor
of the Sanitary Barber Shop, which took place in t he First Presbyterian
Church, San Rafael. Dr. John Jefferson Canoles performed the ceremony.
The couple are residing in San Rafael.

Kuechler-Symmes Wedding Attracts Marin Friends
In the brocaded satin wedding gown of her paternal
grandmother, lovely Miss Carol Day Summes and Mr. Lawrence Foster Kuechler,
of San Rafael, exchanged their wedding vows Saturday afternoon at the home
of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Anson Stiles Blake in Berkeley. Dr. Lynn T. White,
a friend of both the Symmes and Kuechler families, read the ceremony before
the fireplace in the living room of the Blake home.
Mr. Leslie Webb Symms, father of the bride, gave
his daughter in marriage. The bride’s gown was made with a square neck,
puffed sleeve and a long train. A cluster of gardenias held a tulle veil
and carried a bouquet of gardenias in a cuff of ribbons.
Mrs. Henry Kuechler, Jr. of Atherton, was matron
of honor and Miss Barbara Sutton, of San Francisco, was maid of honor.
The bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Cox and Miss Mary Kuechler, sister
of the bridegroom. All wore frocks of chartreuse taffeta.
Mr. Lawrence Draper was the best man. Mrs. Leslie Webb Symmes, mother of the bride, was in a gray chiffon gown and Mrs. Henry Norbury Kuechler, mother of the groom, wore black lace. A huge reception followed the ceremony at the Blake home. Antique candelabra, holding many candles, provided the lighting. The bride’s table was covered with white organdy over ivory satin and centered with a gold bowl filled with gardenias and cyclamen. Upon their return from their wedding trip the couple will reside in Berkeley. Bride is granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank James Symmes and of Mr. and Mrs. Albert White. She is the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Anson Stiles Blake, Miss Mabel Symmes and Miss Ethel Richardson. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at the University of California. Mr. Kuechler is a graduate of Stanford and is affiliated with the Zeta Psi fraternity. |
Young San Anselman To Wed In Oakland
Sunday, January 24 is the date set for the wedding
of Mr. James O’Rourke, of San Anselmo, and Miss Audre Domianovich, in St.
Margaret’s Catholic Church in Oakland.
Miss Katherine Voorheis will be Miss Domianovich’s
maid of honor and attendants will be Misses Jeanne Von Dack, Marian Noonan,
Helen Ruff and Mildred Reagan.
Best man will be Joseph O’Rourke, brother of the
groom-elect. Ushers will be Vincent Beardsley, William Plunkett, Harry
Gaffney and Frank Eagen.
