Newlyweds, Go North Before the altar of St. Paul’s Church here Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, Miss Claire Cole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cole of this city, became the bride of Lieutenant John T. Cox, commanding officer at Pearson Field in Vancouver. The bride’s father gave her in marriage and the service was read by Reverend Frederick Avery. She wore an aquamarine tailored suit, a matching hat and a corsage of orchids. Only bridesmaid was her sister, Harriet Cole, whose costume was a beige tailleur and hat with orchids on her shoulder. The best man was Lieut. John Paine of Fort Douglas, and ushers were Lieut. Follette Bradley of Fort Douglas, Lieut. William Elder and Lieut. Horace Aynesworth of Hamilton Field, and John Howard Gilman. The reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cole. Lt. And Mrs. Cox motored north where they will reside in Portland. Mrs. Cox studied at Katharine Branson School and has been a music student of Madame Elsie Cook Laraia at Dominican College. She has been very popular in the younger set here. |
To Wed Saturday Miss Ruth Ward of Arizona and Russell Bryan Rountree of San Rafael, will be married Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock in the First Presbyterian Church in San Anselmo. The couple will be attended by his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James McKaughan, both students at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. The reception will follow in the home of Mr. and Mrs. McKaughan. The couple to wed met on the campus of the Marin Junior College where both were students. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo B. Rountree of San Rafael, and brother of Irene Rountree. He is a civil service employee with the U. S. Navy at the net depot at California City. |
Miss Virginia Quigley and Lieutenant Thomas Geary, San Rafael dentist, were wed at a quiet ceremony Sunday morning at 9 o’clock in the First Presbyterian Church, San Anselmo, by the Rev. Theodore Henderson. A pacifica blue ensemble with red fox collar and tan accessories were worn by the bride. Her corsage was of orchids. Miss Virginia Quigley, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. Her ensemble was of powder blue and with this she wore black accessories and a gardenia corsage. The benedict’s father, Thomas B. Geary, was the best man for his son. A wedding breakfast was later held at Brock’s Marvel Mar. The couple then left for Fort Lewis where Lieut. Geary, having just received his commission in the army will be stationed. The couple are both graduates of Tamalpais High School, and he studied at Marin Junior College and the College of Physicians and Surgeons. |
Alfred S. Wilsey and Miss Doris Dulsenberg, of Honolulu, were wed Friday afternoon at a ceremony in St. Catherine’s Church in Burlingame. The bride is the daughter of Walter Dulsenberg, prominent Honolulu businessman. She attended Punha School and the University of Hawaii. Young Wilsey is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hayes C. Wilsey of San Rafael, and graduated from St. Ignatius High School and University of San Francisco. The couple’s attendants at their wedding were Miss Ruth Bensberg and Jack Wilsey, brother of the bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. Wilsey will reside in San Francisco. |
