Miss Ena Helen Bunt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Bunt, formerly of Novato, became the bride of Lawrence P. Minvielle of San Francisco at the First Methodist Church in Antioch recently at a 5 o’clock ceremony.

Only immediate members of the family attended the wedding. The bride chose a chiffon and crepe gown of lime green and wore a corsage of American beauty roses. The couple was attended by the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter K. Bunt.

Dinner was served at the Walter bunt home in Antioch after the ceremony. Following the honeymoon trip the couple is returning to San Francisco to reside. The bridegroom is employed by the Federal government.

The new Mrs. Minvielle is a graduate of the Novato school, San Rafael High school and Mt. Zion Hospital School of Nursing. She is the sister of Elizabeth M. Bunt, Ens. Charles A. Bunt, U.S.N.R., Albert W. bunt Jr., U.S.M.M. and Walter Bunt.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Rose Minvielle and brother of Mrs. Jean Hunt, who both reside in Caracas, Venezuela, and Lt. Comd. Alfonse Minvielle, U.S.N. He is a graduate of the University of California, Class of 1941. 

At the San Rafael Presbyterian Church at 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon, Miss Winifred Louise Throop and the Coast Guard’s John  Donald Rubke were united in marriage by Dr. John Jefferson Canoles. The bride chose a gray shantung costume suit for the ceremony. Her pillbox hat was covered with pink feathers and her corsage was an orchid. Mrs. John Snyder of San Francisco, the bride’s only attendant, wore a pale blue shantung suit, a white-flowered hat and a corsage of gardenias. Herbert Teel, fellow coastguardsman, was the bridegroom’s best man.

A reception for family members was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred I. Throop in San Anselmo. The bride’s table, on which was the wedding cake, was all in white. The flowers were white stock and gypsophilia. On another table pink carnations and gypsophilia were the centerpiece.

The newlyweds, on their return from a honeymoon on the Russia River, will reside in San Francisco which is the home of the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. John Donald Rubke. He is stationed at Pt. Bonita. 

Gowned in white satin was Frances Paula Bruce when she and Charles F. Trimble, Jr., air cadet in the Army Air Corps, exchanged their marriage vows yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock before the altar of St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax. The bride’s gown was designed with a basque and a sweetheart neckline from which tiny buttons extended in the back to below the waist. The sleeves were long and the skirt swirled into a train. The bride’s fingertip length veil fell from a coronet seeded with pearls. She carried the white prayer book which her maternal grandmother had also held at her nuptials and from the book cascaded white bonvardia and orchids.

Both the maid-of-honor, Miss Elizabeth Bruce, and the bridesmaid, Miss Aline Bruce, sisters of the bride, were gowned in white mousseline de soie. The sleeves were long and graceful, the necklines high, the bodices softly draped and the skirts full. The attendants carried shower bouquets of red roses and clusters of the same flowers were on their heads.

Edmund Petis, another air cadet, was best man and ushers were George Bruce, a brother of the bride, and Robert and Gordon Trimble, brothers of the bridegroom.

Father Peter Bennett, the pastor, officiated. White stock and gypsophilia decorated the altar.

At the home of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Dovie on Creek Road, Fairfax, the reception took place. The bride’s table was all in white and pastel colored flowers decorated the rooms.

The newlyweds left on a wedding trip south. On their return the bridegroom will go to Gardner Field near Taft, where he is receiving his fight training, and the bride will remain with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Bruce of Fairfax, for a while. She is employed by the Federal Housing Authority in San Francisco. She has two brothers in the service, Joseph Eugene Bruce, with the Navy in the South Pacific, and Lt. Robert J. Bruce, Jr., who was recently promoted from second to first lieutenant and is now in Italy.

At An informal gathering of friends and relatives last night, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Catey of San Anselmo announced the marriage of their daughter, Beverly, to George A. Brown, U.S.N.

The young man, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown of Newark, New Jersey, has the rating of motor machinist, third class.

The wedding took place in San Francisco Monday. The young man, who has been stationed at Tiburon, and the San Anselmo girl have been acquainted about a year.

The bride is the sister of George Catey of Vallejo and Edmund Catey of San Anselmo. She is a graduate of Tamalpais High school and attended Marin Junior College.

The autumn colors prevailed in last night’s decoration and were carried out most effectively in the flowers.

Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Frese, Mrs. Rose Schick of Petaluma, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Catey and daughter, Marilyn of Vallejo, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Catey and their son, Dennis, Mrs. Leo Flynn and son, Leo, the host and hostess, all of San Anselmo, and the newlyweds.

Mrs. Flynn entertained with a number of piano numbers during the evening and games were also enjoyed. 

Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Marjorie Louise Weiss of San Francisco and Myron Owen Johnson whose home was San Anselmo before he entered his country’s service. He is attending Maritime Officers School at Alameda and he and his bride will take a short honeymoon trip after his graduation October 14. He reports for duty October 25.

The wedding was in the Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco September 9 with Rev. Othmar Tobisch officiating. The reception following the wedding was at the Century Club.

The bride’s gown of white satin had a scalloped sweetheart neckline and long sleeves with inserts of lace. The bridal bouquet was white orchids and bouvardia. The lace had been a gift of the bride’s father, Harry Weiss of San Francisco, to his wife. He had it made in India while they were on their honeymoon.

The matron of honor at the Johnson-Weiss wedding, Mrs. Jayne Ellis of San Francisco and the bridesmaids, Miss Barbara Williams of San Anselmo and Miss Gene Caroc of San Francisco were gowned alike in turquoise blue crepe and carried leis with matching flowers in their hair. The matron of honor carried pink carnations and the bridesmaids fuschsia colored carnations and dahlias.

Joseph Holmaes, a classmate of the bridegroom, was best man. Another classmate, Norman Laird, and Dick Williams of San Anselmo and Jack Weiss, San Francisco brother of the bride, were ushers.

The bride’s mother wore a fuchsia colored gown, small matching hat and purple orchids. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Johnson of San Anselmo. For her son’s wedding, Mrs. Johnson chose a most[ly] gray ensemble. Her hat was blue and her corsage lavender.

The bride is a graduate of San Francisco Junior College. The bridegroom, who also attended the San Francisco college, has a diploma from San Rafael High school. His brother, Leroy Johnson is in the Merchant Marines. He has one sister, Miss Lois Johnson. 

Invitations will soon be in the mails for the wedding of Sgt. Hugo Rinaldi, the brilliant young violinist, winner fo the marin Musical Chest scholarships several times and also the recipient of other awards, and lovely Marjorie Ann Buchanan of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The young lady, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Buchanan, arrived with her mother from South Dakota this past weekend and is staying at the home of Sgt. Rinaldi’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rinaldi of San Rafael.

The wedding is to be at St. Raphael’s Church, Sunday morning, October 8 at 10 o’clock. San Francisco cousins of the future benedict are the bride’s attendants and the flower girl, Delpha Granucci.  Miss Ellen Pera is to be maid of honor and Miss Tosca Baldocchi, bridesmaid. As the bride’s father cannot be here to give her in marriage, Ernest Rinaldi, father of Sgt. Rinaldi, will escort her to the altar.

A reception following the ceremony is to be at St. Raphael’s Hall.

The bride-elect, graduate of Washington high school at Sioux Falls, is secretary to the chief operator of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in the northern city.
