Dominican College’s annual Commencement exercises were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Angelico Hall on the campus. Archbishop John J. Mitty presided over the event. Dr. Guilio Silva directed the Dominican College chorus in the singing of “Hear Us, Oh Lord,” by Mozart.
Graduation exercises of the high school followed immediately at Hawthorne Court on the campus, where Archbishop Mitty also officiated.
In the college the degree of Bachelor of Arts was conferred on Mary Patricia Bannon, Elizabeth Mary Bribois, cum laude; Mary Elizabeth Crane, Jane Abbot Crawford, Patricia Anne Cruden, Mary Elizabeth Cushing, Eleanor Frances Egan, Tallulah Jean Gibb, cum laude; Marie Edna Harris, magna cum laude; Henrietta Hillefeld, Jeanne Marie Kennedy, Joan Josephine Kiernan, Patricia Lake, Frances Musso, cum laude; Mildred Ann O’Brien, Mary Lorraine Quinn, June Rawlings, magna cum laude; Helen Kathryn Sullivan, Katherine Elizabeth Tracy, Ruth Elizabeth Weis.
Receiving general secondary credentials
for teaching in public high schools of California were Mary Rita Cavanagh,
Dorothy Mary Entwistle, Ann Marie Quartararo, Helen Marie Thompson; general
elementary credentials for teaching in public grade schools were awarded
to Mary Elizabeth Brisbois, Frances Musso, Mary Lorraine Quinn. Awarded
social service credentials were Mary Patricia Bannon, Patricia Ann Cruden,
Mary Elizabeth Cushing, Eleanor Frances Egan, Jeanne Marie Kennedy, Joan
Kiernan, Patricia Lake, Suzanne Seil, Helen K. Sullivan, Katherine Tracy.
