The June meeting of the County Board of Education began on the 17th and continued 8 days. The Board at present consists of James B. Davidson of Sausalito, F.W. Wright of San Rafael, C.O. Sharpe of Olema, Miss B.C. Brown of Larkspur, and Supt. of Schools, Mr. Furlong. A general review of the work of the county schools for the term just closed was made by inspecting district reports. Seventeen districts reported graduates from grammar grades.

Over 60 pupils were in the final examination held in the county schools during the first week of June. Of this number, 53 received diplomas of graduation, having finished the County Course of Study.

Two grades of diplomas are now issued by the Board to pupils who have finished the Course of Study. The higher grade of diploma carries with it recommendation of the Board that the pupil is capable of doing academic work, and entitled to admission to Normal or High School. The second class diploma is without recommendation, but certifies that the pupil has finished the Course of Study for the grammar schools.

Thirty-seven received diplomas of the higher grade, and sixteen of the lower grade, as follows:
