This index is a one of a kind item that is located at the Bancroft Library on the UC Berkeley campus in Berkeley, California. It was prepared by Lois B. Benton as part of a term paper that she did in 1917. The whole index is done in long hand. All the names are alphabetized. I did not see a count of the names, but would estimate there are about 1000 or more. Each citation contains some or all of the following information:

1. Name of pioneer
2. Date of arrival in California
3. Route by which they came
4. Volume, page, month and year of Grizzly Bear Magazine where name appears.

The magazines have been bound into hard bound books. I don't know if every issue in the index is available in the library.
