The journey overland to California during the Gold Rush was captured in the journals of Geiger and Bryarly. The reason this book is included in the index is because of the Bibliography in the back of the book. Listed in two sections are 12 unpublished sources from the Coe Collection of Yale University Library and 25 published sources. These sources are the diaries and journals of the argonauts who recorded their overland experiences. The author has arranged their names in alphabetical order and has given a brief description of each account. What the author did not do was to convey as to where one might find these published sources. Anyone searching for ancestors who may have ventured to California overland during the Gold Rush should check this book.
