To Choose Dream Girl Here Tonight - Judges Will Select Queen of ’58 Fiesta

More than 350 top county officials and members of the press are expected tonight at the annual Flair and Floral Fiesta banquet when one of 13 girls representing almost every community in the county will be chosen to reign as Fiesta Dream Girl.

The program will begin at 6:30 at the Fiesta building.  Attendance is by invitation only.  Paul SPEEGLE, newspaper columnist, will be master of ceremonies.

The winner will be showered with gifts donated by county business firms.  She will also be in attendance through the run of the fair which opens August 1 and closes August 9.

The contestants are:

San Mateo, Marie CIAMPI
Redwood City, Bobbie PETICLERC
South San Francisco, Elna HORNER
Pacifica, Patricia SMITH
San Bruno, Sharon SCHULTHEIS
San Carlos, Corienne CAMPBELL
Burlingame, Arlene PETTAS
Daly City, Mary CUNNINGHAM
Coastside, Elissa BENETTI
Millbrae, Patricia DONOHUE
East Palo Alto, Sandy THAYER
Menlo-Atherton, Arlene VIOLETTE

Judges will include Russ HODGES, Giants’ radio broadcaster; Lew MERRILL, president of American Shows; Pat MASON of the Mason-Kahn dance studios; Jean HERMAN of the American Academy of Dramatic Artists; and Jon RICE, program director of KQEO [sic.].”
