A very successful and enthusiastic Alumnae meeting was held last September under the able management of Mrs. George KNORP and her efficient staff of officers. There was an unusually large attendance with a goodly sprinkling of members from outside the city who had come from far and near to renew old-time friendships and spend again happy hours among the friends and cherished scenes of carefree school days. Among those from various parts of the state were:

Miss Dorothy KAPPLER - Nevada
Mrs. Ivan CLAR - Guerneville

Among the local residents were two prominent members, Miss Josephine T. MOLLOY, the organizer of the Alumnae, and Mrs. K. LAWLER, the first president. These two ladies are held in the highest esteem and the association gratefully acknowledges its indebtedness to them for the flourishing condition of the Alumnae.

An important feature of the Assesmbly every year is the initiation of the last graduating class. At the luncheon a special table is reserved for them and they are considered the guests of the occasion; in fact, everything is done to make them feel at home. The Class of Twenty-eight experienced this warm welcome and Miss LAGOMARSINO, in a graceful speech, voiced the thanks of her class to the Alumnae for the gracious reception accorded them.

At the close of the meeting a vote of thanks was given the retiring president and her staff. The new officers were elected and installed for the ensuing year.

The Class of Twenty-nine was invited to the annual Alumnae Triduum in preparation for Our Lady's Feast on December 8. This beautiful custom of having a Triduum in the convent chapel was established by Mrs. Eustace CULLINAN, during her term as president and bespeaks the fidelity of the former pupils to the traditions of their Alma Mater, and their loyal adherance to Notre Dame's characteristic devotion, homage to our Heavenly Queen.

On April 6, the Alumnae gave a bridge-tea fashion show in the Gold Room of the Fairmont Hotel. All who were present declared the affair most unique, reflecting great credit on the skillful planning of Mrs. D. MURPHY and her assistants. Over one hundred sixty-five tables were reserved by the Alumnae and their friends. The Class of Twenty-nine was invited to participate. Needless to say, they appreciated the honor and fully enjoyed the afternoon.

Among the recent graduates, members of the Alumnae who have won distinction at the University of California, we are pleased to note the following:

Lenoir McNAMARA, co-author of the Senior extravaganza, women's editor of the Daily Californian for the fall semester,  member of the "Mortar Board," Senior women's national honor society, member of the Theta Sigma Phi, journalistic honor society.

Mary TURNER, affiliated with the Daily Califonian and the News Bureau, archery manager.

Urania MORAN, alumni editor of the Engineer's Monthly, one of the activities of the campus.

Catherine KELLY has a high record in Latin.

Catherine CONNOLLY and GLadys FINNEY are on the honor list.

Madeline WARD won distinction at the Affiliated Colleges in a course on bacteriology.

Claire MILLER of the Class of Twenty-eight was awarded a Kraft Prize in recognition of high scholarship during her Freshman year.

One of the pleasant anticipations of the Class of Twenty-nine is the admission next September into the Alumnae Association. May it be the ambition of every Notre Dame graduate to be a worthy member of that splendid body of women. May we be as eager to uphold out [sic.] beloved Alma Mater's traditions and do our share in loyally maintaining Notre Dame's ideals.
