LOS GATOS HIGH HOLDS GRADUATION PROGRAM

Brilliant Numbers Rendered by Students at Commencement Exercises.

Special to the Mercury Herald

LOS GATOS,. June 23.

The high school auditorium, brightly illuminated and gayly decorated, was filled with relatives and admiring friends of the class of 1916 at the graduating exercises held last night. The stage was a bower of greenery, the numerals "16" done in pink standing out in bold relief in the background. Through the room baskets of pink geraniums with their own foliage carried out the class colors, pink and green. The junior class carried in the flowers brought for the graduates and massed them in the foreground of the stage, beautiful flowers filling the air with fragrance and all combining to make a perfect setting for the bright young faces of the 26 boys and girls who had reached this important milestone in their life.

The program presented was highly interesting, opening with an overture, "High Jinks," (Friml) high school orchestra; the Gainsborough march, orchestra; invocation by the Rev. Henry WINTIER; "Indian Love Song" (J.A. Jeffers), high school octette; "The Changing Conception of Who's Who," Eva LUPTON; "Summer Now Hath Come Among Us" (Wilson), girls' Glee club' "World's Citizenship," Frank SCOTT; "Merrily Goes Our Bark," high school octette; address, "Preparedness," Dr. LANGE; "Wiegenlied," cradle song, (Frank), Girls' Glee club; presentation of class, W.T. WALTON; presentation of diplomas, Wm. M. GODFREY; march, "Victorious Harvard," orchestra.
