PROFESSOR MORSE STEPHENS OF CORNELL UNIVERSITY WILL DELIVER ADDRESS TO GRADUATING CLASS.
The graduating class of the San Jose High School is already astir in preparation for the exercises of commencement week. The program will be continued for several days, commending June 21st and continuing until June 27th.
The commencement exercises will begin with the graduating exercises of the Senate Literary Society on the evening of June 21st. Class night excercises of the Senior class will be held on the evening of June 24th.
The Delphic and Ecclesia Literary Societies will hold joint graduating exercises on the evening of June 25th and on the following night the Logeion Literary Society will present its graduates with diplomas. June 27th at 10 a.m. the graduating exercises will take place in Normal hall. Professor Morse Stephens, head of the department of history in Cornell university will deliver the address to the graduating class.
William Edwards, Hugh Gregg, Edna Ecker and Birdie Lenz have been accorded the honor of participating in the program because of their excellent scholarships in the school.
Vocal and instrumental music will be rendered by excellent talent.
At 3 o'clock in the afternoon of commencement day a reception to the faculty and to Morse Stephens will be tendered at the home on Orchard road of Miss Frances Shallenberger. In the evening at 9 o'clock the alumni reunion will be held at the High school. At all the exercises excellent Literray [sic.]and musical programs will be rendered, and every effort is being made by the faculty and students to make this the most enjoyable commencement in the history of the school. The following is a list of the members of the Senior class who will receive diplomas, providing they succeed in passing the final examinations.
