July 21, 1877 Unknown man. George TAYLOR (?) Found on doorstep of No. 642 Folsom street;  died in City Receiving Hospital.  The following note was found on the body:  "My name, George TAYLOR.  Stocks has brought me to this.  California owes me coffin.  no more."  Description:  Six feet in hight, [sic.] stout build, a very high forehead, brown hair, brown mustache, wore heavy rough brown coat, gray cloth vest, brown plaid pants, drab-colored cotton shirt, blue flannel undershirt and drawers.  Suicide.
July 30, 1877 Unknown man. John FRANCISCO (?) Found on Front Street Wharf.  Died at City Receiving Hospital.  Description:  About thirty-five years of age, five feet three inches in hight [sic.], dark brown hair, very thin on top of head, short dark brown beard, light brown mustache.  Wore light brown coat with dark brown velvet collar, reddish brown check shirt, blue overalls, heavy boots and black felt hat.  Effects:  Three dollars and eighty cents (coin,) brierwood pipe;  had "time voucher" adressed to Charles WARFIELD, Esq., in name of Simon KAUF, and signed by J.W. SCHMITZ.
Nov. 5, 1877 Unknown man.  P. COYLE (?) Found in a room and the Russ House.  Registered his name as P. COYLE, Alameda.  Description:  About thirty-five years of age, dark brown hair, reddish mustache, five feet eight inches in hight [sic.], medium build.  Wore heavy dark brown tweed overcoat, black vest, light pants, bosom shirt, brown and white striped shirt, boots and black felt hat.  Effects:  Gold ring with the letters "M.1.M." engraved inside, pipe, pocket knife, folding purse, iroide horse shoe, lady's oroide earring, stone setting.
Nov. 16, 1877 Unknown man.  Frederick VEHSE (?) Found in Central Pacific Hotel No. 348 Fourth street.  Registered as Fred. VEHSE.  Description:  Six feet in hight [sic.], heavy build, about forty years of age, blue eyes, brown hair, sandy beard and mustache, prominent nose, a native of Prussia.  Wore red flannel shirt, dark sack coat, vest and pants, brogans and black felt hat.  Effects:  Memorandum book, with the name of Frederich VEHSE, aus Bramsche bei Osnabriok, Brofinz Hanofer, Preusen, written therein;  folding pocket book, pocket knife, pocket mirror, key, twnety cents.  Suicide.
Nov. 28, 1877 Unknown man.  Wm. FABER (?) Found in a doorway on the north side of Washington street, near Montgomery.  Died in the City Receiving Hospital.  Description:  About forty years of age, five feet nine inches in hight [sic.], black hair and beard, brown mustache, blue eyes, medium buid.  Wore a pepper and salt tweed coat with velvet collar, dark pants with small check, red flannel under shirt, white cotton undershirt, white linen shirt, gray woolen socks, low cut gaiters.  Effects:  Brier-wood pipe, black handled jack-knife.  Suicide.
Feb. 10, 1878 Unknown man.  E. BUSHWICK (?) Found in sand hills, near Oceanside House.  Identified as a man who had registered at the Russ House, January 22, 1878, as E. BUSHWICK.  Description:  About forty years of age, five feet eight inches in hight [sic.], medium build, blue eyes, pointed nose, dark brown hair tinged with gray, light brown mustache, brown chin whiskers, quite gray.  Wore black cassimere suit, sack overcoat, frock coat, and vest and pants;  some of the suit had Devlin & Co's (New York) tag upon it.  He was also clothed in a bosom shirt, white underclothing, and stiff-brimmed black hat.  Effects:  Fifteen dollars and thirty-five cents (coin), five cent nickel, open faced gold watch, No. 43,348, Bourquin, Geneva, maker;  watch chain gold ring, pocket-knife, key, corkscrew, comb and rule.  Suicide.
Mar. 26, 1878 Unknown man.  Patrick CAMPBELL (?) Fell dead at County Hospital.  A ticket of the dispensary of the Medical College of the Pacific, No. 11,022, March 9, 1878, bearing name of Patrick CAMPBELL, and signed by Dr. W.T. WYTHE; was found upon the body.  Descritpion:  About fifty years of age, five feet ten inches in hight [sic.], slender build, brown hair tinged with gray, and a few days' growth of beard.  Wore brown frock coat and vest, dark cassimere pants over light brown pants, black and white checked flannel shirt, red flannel undershirt, baogans and black felt hat.  Effects:  Razor and case, pocket-knife, buckskin purse.
