BOUNDARIES OF CITY WARDS.

Ward No. 1— Includes that portion of the City situated east of a line running through the centre [sic] of Montgomery street, and west of a line running through the centre of Jackson street.

Ward No. 2— Includes that portion west of said line in Montgomery street, and north of said line in Jackson street.

Ward No. 3— Includes that portion situated east of a line running through the centre of Montgomery street, and between the said line in Jackson street and a line running through the centre of Sacramento street.

Ward No. 4— Includes that portion situated west of the aforesaid line in Montgomery street, and between said line in Jackson street and a line running through the centre of Clay street.

Ward No. 5— Includes all that portion situated between the intersection of Sacramento and Market streets, and the aforesaid line in Montgomery street, and between the line in Sacramento street and a line running through the centre of Market street.

Ward No. 6—Includes that portion situated west of said line in Montgomery street, and between the aforesaid line in Clay street and a line running through the centre of Bush street.

Ward No. 7—Includes that portion south and east of said line in Market street, and east of a  line running through the centre of Fourth street.

Ward No. 8—Includes that portion of said line in Fourth street, and south of said line in Bush street, commencing at Montgomery street and running through the said street to the centre of Market street, thence up Market street to its intersection with Fourth street.

ELECTION DISTRICTS—as established by the Commissioners appointed by the State Legislature of 1856:

First District—Is bounded by Kearny Street on the west, Pacific Street on the south and the Bay.

Second District—Is bounded by Pacific Street on the south, the Bay on the north, Leavenworth Street on the west and Kearny Street on the east.

Third District—Is bounded by Clay Street on the south, Pacific Street on the north, Kearny Street on the west and the Bay on the east.

Fourth District—Is bounded by Clay Street on the south, Pacific Street on the north, Larkin Street on the west and Kearny Street on the east.

Fifth District—Is bounded by Pine Street on the south, Clay Street on the north, Kearny Street on the west and the Bay on the east.

Sixth District—Is bounded on the south by Pine Street, on the north by Clay Street, on the west by Larkin Street and on the east by Kearny Street.

Seventh District—Is the triangle bounded by Market, Dupont [aka Grant] and Pine Streets.

Eighth District—Is bounded by Market Street on the south, Pine Street on the north, Larkin Street on the west and Dupont [aka Grant] Street on the east.

Ninth District—Is the triangle bounded by Second Street, Market Street and the Bay.

Tenth District—Is bounded by the Bay, Harris, Market and Second streets.

Eleventh District—Is an irregular space commencing at the foot of Harris Street, running along Harris to Market, along  Market to Larkin, along Larkin to Bush, along Bush to the boundaries of the new county of San Mateo, and along this boundary to the place of beginning.

Twelfth District—Is bounded by Bush Street on the south, the Bay on the north, the boundaries of the new county on the west and Leavenworth and Larkin streets on the east.

First Ward—Bounded by Washington Street on the south, Kearny Street on the west, and the Bay of San Francisco on the north and east, including the islands of the bay.

Second Ward—Bounded by Kearny Street on the east, Vallejo Street on the south, Larkin Street on the west, and the Bay of San Francisco on the north.

Third Ward—Bounded by Washington Street on the north, Kearny Street on the west, California Street on the South, and Market Street and the Bay of San Francisco on the east.

Fourth Ward—Bounded by Vallejo Street on the north, Kearny Street on the east, Washington Street on the south, and Larkin Street on the west.

Fifth Ward—Bounded by California Street on the north, Kearny Street on the west, and Market Street on the south and east.

Sixth Ward—Bounded by Kearny Street on the east, Pine Street on the south, Larkin Street on the west, and Washington Street on the north.

Seventh Ward, District No. 1—Bounded by Howard Street on the south, Second Street on the west, Market Street on the north, and the waters of the bay on the east.

Seventh Ward, District No. 2—Bounded by Harrison Street on the south, Second Street on the west, Howard Street on the north, and the waters of the bay on the east.

Eighth Ward, District No. 1—Bounded by Post Street on the south, Larkin Street on the west, Pine Street on the north, and Kearny Street on the east.

Eighth Ward, District No. 2—Bounded by Market Street on the south, Larkin Street on the west, Post Street on the north, and Kearny street on the east.

Ninth Ward—Bounded by Harrison Street on the north, Seventh Street on the west, and the bay of San Francisco on the east.

Tenth Ward, District No. 1—Bounded by Market Street on the north, Second Street on the east, Howard Street on the south, and Fourth Street on the west.

Tenth Ward, District No. 2—Bounded by Harrison Street on the south, Fourth Street on the west, Howard Street on the north, and Second Street on the east.

Tenth Ward, District No. 3—Bounded by Howard Street on the south, Seventh Street on the west, Market Street on the north, and Fourth Street on the east.

Tenth Ward, District No. 4—Bounded by Howard Street on the north, Fourth Street on the east, Harrison Street on the South, and Seventh Street on  the west.

Eleventh Ward, District No. 1—Bounded on the east by Seventh Street to Mission Creek, on the south by Mission Creek and Sixteenth Street to Dolores Street, and on the west by Dolores Street to Market Street, and westerly and northerly by Market Street to Seventh Street.

Eleventh Ward, District No. 2—Bounded on the north by Sixteenth Street to Dolores Street, on the east by Dolores Street from Sixteenth Street to Ridley Street, on the north by Ridley Street and a direct line to the Pacific Ocean, on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the south by San Mateo County line, and on the east by San Bruno Road to Folsom Street, thence on the east by Folsom Street to Sixteenth Street.

Eleventh Ward, District No. 3—Bounded on the north by Mission Creek and Sixteenth Street to Folsom Street, on the west by Folsom Street to Serpentine Avenue, on the south by Serpentine Avenue, from Folsom Street to the San Bruno Road, thence along the San Bruno Road to Precita Creek, on the south by Precita Creek, and easterly and northerly by the waters of the bay to Mission Creek.

Eleventh Ward, District No. 4—Bounded on the west by the San Bruno Road to San Mateo County, on the south by the line of San mateo County to the bay, thence easterly and northerly by the waters of the bay and Precita Creek to the San Bruno Road.

Twelfth Ward, District No. 1—Bounded by Larkin Street on the East, Bush Street on the south, the Pacific Ocean on the west, and the Bay of San Francisco on the north.

Twelfth Ward, District No. 2—Bounded by Bush Street on the north, Larkin Street on the east, Market Street to Ridley Street, and Ridley Street in a direct line to the Pacific Ocean on the south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west.

First Ward—Bounded by the waters of the Bay of San Francisco on the north and east; by the north line of Washington street on the south; by the east line of Kearny street on the west; including the islands in the Bay. Number of Voting Precincts—eight.

Second Ward—Bounded by the waters of the Bay of San Francisco on the north; by the west line of Kearny street on the east; by the north line of Vallejo street on the south; by the east line of Larkin street on the west. Number of Precincts—nine.

Third Ward—Bounded by the south line of Washington street on the north, by the waters of the Bay of San Francisco, and the northerly line of Market street on the east; by the north line of California street on the south, and the east line of Kearny street on the west. Number of Precincts—three.

Fourth Ward—Bounded by the south line of Vallejo street on the north, by the west line of Kearny street on the east, by the north line of Washington street on the south, and by the east line of Larkin street on the west. Number of precincts—eight.

Fifth Ward—Bounded by the south line of California street on the north; by the northerly line of Market street on the southeast; and by the east line of Kearny street on the west. Number of Precincts—two.

Sixth Ward—Bounded by the south line of Washington street on the north by the west line of Kearny street on the east; by the north line of Pine street on the south; and by the east line of Larkin street on the west. Number of Precincts—six.

Seventh Ward—Bounded by the southerly line of Market street on the north—west; by the waters of th Bay of San Francisco on the north-east; by the northerly line of Harrison street on the south—east; and by the easterly line of Second street on the south-west. Number of precincts—eight.

Eighth Ward—Bounded by the south line of Pine street on the north; by the west line of Kearny street on the east; by the northerly line of Market street on the south-east; and by the east line of Larkin street on the west. Number of precincts—eighteen.

Ninth Ward—Bounded by the southerly line of Harrison street on the north-west; by the waters of the bay of San Francisco on the north-east and east; by the northerly line of Channel street on the southeast; and by the easterly line of Seventh street on the south-west. Number of precincts—ten.

Tenth Ward—Bounded by the southerly line of Market street on the north—west; by the westerly line of Second street on the north-east; by the northerly line of Harrison street on the south—east; and by the easterly line of Seventh street on the south-west. Number of Precincts—twenty-four.

Eleventh Ward—Bounded by the southerly line of Ridley street, the southerly line of Ridley street produced due west to the Pacific Ocean, the southerly line of Market street, the westerly line of Seventh street, and the southerly line of Channel street on the north; by the waters of the Bay of San Francisco on the east; by the southerly line of the City and County of San Francisco on the south; and by the waters of the Pacific Ocean on the west. Number of Precincts—thirty-three.

Twelfth Ward—Bounded by the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the waters of the Bay of San Francisco on the north; by the west line of Larkin street on the east; by the northerly line of Market street, the north line of Ridley street, and the north line of Ridley street produced due west to the Pacific Ocean on the south; and by the waters of the Pacific Ocean on the west. Number of Precincts—twenty-four.
