"PALMER/PROVIS--Miss Provis Weds William A. Palmer - GRASS VALLEY (Nevada Co.), September 4 - One of the prettiest and most interesting weddings of the year was solemnized here yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, when Miss Alma PROVIS became the bride of William A. PALMER, a native of Napa. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William PROVIS, of High Street. The beautiful home was profusely decorated with vines and blossoms. The bridesmaids were Misses Adair WALDEN, of Napa, and Gladys PENDLETON, of Loomis. Rev. F.E. DELL, of the Congregational Church, officiated. Only relatives and a few intimate friends were present. Mr. and Mrs. PALMER left after a wedding dinner for Lake Tahoe, where their honeymoon will be spent. They will reside in Oakland, where the groom is engaged in business. The bride is one of the handsomest and most popular members of the younger society set of this place. She is a native of this city, her father being a prominent merchant and a member of the Board of City Trustees. She is a member of the leading society of the San Francisco Girls' High School, having attended that institution." Source: The Evening Bee (Sacramento, CA), 4 Sept 1906, Page 6.
