"JACKSON/JACKSON--SAN FRANCISCO DISPATCH, Feb. 28 - Emma J. JACKSON has commenced suit for a divorce from her husband, Andrew JACKSON. The plaintiff is a young white girl, 13 years of age, and the defendant a negro nearly 60 years old. The mother of the girl procured a license for their marriage by making false representations to the County Clerk. After the marriage the girl fled from her husband and was taken care of by some friends. The negro then endeavored to obtain possession of her through habeas corpus, when the case came before Judge Cowles, who placed her in charge of proper guardians, and the suit has been commenced at their instigation."
