Panama, Jan. 2, 1853.
To our friends and the public,
We, the undersigned, having been detained in Panama a few days, took our abode
at the Spring Hotel, kept by Mr. N. Wade, a few minutes walk outside
the city gates; can with confidence recommend it to the travelling (sic) public,
as a most pleasant and healthy situation, and a place where gentlemanly treatment,
and as many of the good things of life (as can be found in Panama) may always
be relied upon.
