-- The San Francisco 'Call' of last Tuesday says: "At the Baldwin
hotel in San Francisco yesterday at 1p.m. Jesse L. EDMUNDSON of
Oakland and Miss Emma PESANTE of Salinas were married by Rev. Dr.
CHAPMAN
of the Brooklyn Presbyterian church. There was a little romance in the
marriage, the parents of both parties being opposed, and it was therefore
a secret one so far as the relatives were concerned. The groom is the editor

of Jno. PESANTE, a wealthy rancher. They left after the ceremony
for Paso Robles, but will return to Oakland to live." Mr. EDMUNDSON

leaving from Paso Robles by the noon train yesterday. The 'Index'
