"JAMISON/CAMPBELL--JUDGE'S WIDOW CAUSES SENSATION--Marries Man Recently Released From Prison--The San Francisco Examiner to-day publishes a story to the effect that the widow of the late Judge J.A. CAMPBELL, of San Francisco, married an ex-convict in this city on November 27th. The man in the case is G.H. JAMISON, who was released from San Quentin prison last August upon completing a term of eighteen months for grand larceny. Both Mrs. JAMISON and her husband admit that he was sent to San Quentin, but insist that he was innocent of the crime charged. Since Judge CAMPBELL's death in 1899, his widow has resided at Berkeley with an adopted daughter, Mrs. Anita DUNWOODIE. Mrs. JAMISON declares it was her adopted daughter and Archibald CAMPBELL, a fourth cousin of the late Judge CAMPBELL, who made JAMISON'S record public. JAMISON embarked in the furniture business in Berkeley shortly after his release from prison, using his own money, and not that of his wife, he declares. As stated, the ceremony took place in Sacramento, November 27th, the newly-married couple returning to Berkeley at once." Source: The Evening Bee (Sacramento, CA), 7 Dec 1905, page 12.
