"NOHRDEN/ROGERS--*A Double Wedding -- The
Watsonville
'Rustler' of July 1st says: "The Presbyterian church was crowded last
Wednesday afternoon by interested spectators who had assembled to witness
a double wedding. The principles were H.L. SHIDELER and Miss Maggie
ROGERS; Fred H. NOHRDEN and Miss Lizzie ROGERS. The grooms
are resident of San Francisco, and are young men who have a fair start
in the race for business success. The brides are the daughters of Mr.&Mrs.
Jas. M. RODGERS [spelled 2 ways], and are loved an esteemed by a
large circle of friends in this valley. The wedding was celebrated under
most favorable auspices. The church had been handsomely decorated for the
occasion, and the reception that followed the ceremony was an ovation to
the young people, particularly the brides, who are very popular with their
associates. The happy pairs left on the afternoon train for San Francisco,

"NORDMAN/BISSERT--A Richmond Wedding. A quiet
wedding took place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17th, at the residence
of Mr. Walter C. LA BIRGE, 234 Eighth avenue. The contracting parties
were Miss Minnie BISSERT, niece of Mr. LA BIRGE, and Mr.
Harry NORDMAN, of the Standard Optical Co. None but the families
of the interested parties were present, but the preparations were none
the less dainty and elegant for its privacy. bThe rooms were beautifully
decorated with appropriate flowers and draperies, and a dainty farewell
repast was served to wind up the festivities. The happy couple left on
the afternoon train for an extended tour to Los Angeles and Southern California,
taking in all the choice resorts on the way. Mr. Harry NORDMAN is
a popular young man in the business world and enjoys a wide circle of friends
and acquaintances throughout the State. Miss Minnie BISSERT was
a popular young lady amongst her friends and Richmond loses one of her
fairest daughters. The Banner joins a large host of friends in extending
congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. NORDMAN." Source:
