at the home of C.I. Magee at San Geronimo.The bride was Miss

who has been an employee of the North Shore Railroad for a time, being
superintendent of the signal system.James Magee was best man,
and the bridesmaids were Misses Emily Magee and Loretta Wickman.Rev.
A. Crosby was the officiating clergyman.They will reside at

a brother of the bride, was best man.After their honeymoon,

There was a real elopement here last Monday and
Cupid had a merry laugh at a couple of angry parents.Gus
MOSELEY and Eva CALCOTE came down from Guerneville and procured a marriage
license from cupid Graham.The young man swore that he was
21 and the bride-to-be admitted to being past 18 summers.After
getting the license they hurried to Recorder Murray and were married.While
all of this was going on a bunch of angry parents were keeping the telephone
wires hot.The message to Clerk Graham, “Don’t issue license
to Gus Moseley and Eva Calcote – he’s only 19 and she’s but 15 years old.All
of this came too late and Eva and Gus journeyed back to Guerneville happy
in the knowledge that “love had found a way”. |

Miss Eva CALCOTE and Gus MOSELEY of Guerneville,
members of well-known families there, who eloped to San Rafael, secured
a marriage license and were married before a telephone message was received
asking that they be refused a license, obtained another license and were
married over again by Judge Atchinson.The girl, a pretty
blonde, is only 16 years old and her lover 19, so that in the eyes of the
law the license they secured Monday without the consent of their parents
was void.Tuesday afternoon they came to Santa Rosa accompanied
by their parents, who consented to the issuing of the license and later
added their parental blessing to the union. |

Following the solemnization of the wedding vows
of Theodore CONNOLLY and Miss Willa THIRSTED yesterday afternoon, a wedding
breakfast was served to the guests at the residence of the elder brother
of the groom at Central Avenue and Page Street, and that wedding breakfast
spoke well for the spirit that is typical of the new San Francisco.Weeks
ago the ceremony was planned and set for yesterday.The groom,
with his 4 brothers, was engaged in a prosperous grocery business on Fourth
Street.The store went up in flames.All of the
wedding preparations were gone.But, they carried out the wedding
as planned. |

On last Monday at Santa Rosa in a tent on the courthouse
grounds, C. PICCINOTTI of Red Hill, near Petaluma, was united in marriage
to Miss Elisa GUILIERI, lately of Switzerland.Justice of the
Peace A.J. Atchinson tied the knot that united the couple.The
ceremony was quiet and witnessed by just the necessary witnesses.Mr.
and Mrs. Piccinotti had intended having the reception at their home at
Red Hill, but due to the earthquake, the affair will be postponed until
a later date.Mr. Piccinotti has for 16 years been proprietor
of the Red Hill Roadhouse and is well known in Sonoma and Marin counties.The
bride had been here from Switzerland for 2 and one half years. |

The engagement is announced of Miss Linda MARTIN,

MORETTI of San Diego.The date of the nuptials has not been
set, but they will take place in the fall at Cevio, Switzerland.The
news of the approaching wedding will create much interest among the many
friends of the young bride-elect.Just a few months ago,
Miss Camelia Martin, her sister, became the bride of Prof. Mattei in Switzerland.Miss
Martin and sister, accompanied by Miss Irene Respini, left this city last
August to visit relatives in Europe and few of their friends were aware
that two of the ladies would return to California as brides.Miss
Martin is a very popular young lady and is accom-plished.She
was educated in the Santa Clara convent.She is a sister of
Mrs. B. Pattochi, Mrs. Dolcini, Mrs. Camelia Mattei, Charles Arnold, and
L. Martin.The groom-to-be is a relative of the Dados, and
is well known here.Mr. Moretti has for several years been
managing one of the Martin Ranches at San Diego.His parents

Cruz.In the City by the Sea on Tuesday they will be united
in marriage, and after a honeymoon trip, will return to Guerneville, where
they will make their home.Both of the contracting parties
are well known here, and their many friends will hear with pleasure of
the nuptials.Mr. Shera is essentially a Santa Rosa boy,
and attended the schools there.He has risen rapidly in his
chosen line, and has been in charge of the most important trains on the
company’s road.Miss Schindler is a pretty and charming girl,
and talented in many ways.The young couple are wished much

Constable Agnew arrested a soldier here on Sunday
night, for desertion.The arrest was made on instructions
from Fort McDowell.LUNDY came here in the morning with a Mrs.
P.W. MOORE and secured a marriage license.Later they were
married by Recorder Murray in a rear room of Lunny’s Café.As
the ceremony ended in rushed a soldier named Kane who declared that Lundy
had robbed him of his sweetheart.Mr. Kane endeavored to even
things up with a big six shooter but bystanders overpowered him before
he could carry out his intentions.It is said that in the
mele, Judge Murray escaped through a window.When the arrest
took place, the happy pair were at the National Hotel safe from the wrath
of disappointed lovers. |

fortunate young man is the eldest son of A.W. Foster, the president of
the California Northwestern and North Shore Railroads.Being
the son of a wealthy father has not injured him and he is already looked
